COVID-19 is the disease caused by the new coronavirus that emerged in China in December 2019. The COVID19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV2). It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China.
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause illnesses such as the common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). In 2019, a new coronavirus was identified as the cause of a disease outbreak that originated in China. Data has shown that it spreads from person to person among those in close contact (within about 6 feet, or 2 meters). The virus spreads by respiratory droplets released when someone infected with the virus coughs, sneezes or talks.
Common symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath or breathing difficulties, and loss of sense of smell. Complications may include pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. The incubation period is typically around five days but may range from two to fourteen days. There are several vaccine candidates in development, although none have completed clinical trials to prove their safety and efficacy. There is no known specific antiviral medication, so primary treatment is currently symptomatic.
If you have emergency COVID-19 signs and symptoms, seek care immediately. Emergency signs and symptoms can include:
ï‚· Trouble breathing
ï‚· Persistent chest pain or pressure
ï‚· Inability to stay awake
ï‚· New confusion
ï‚· Blue lips or face
We have to take care of ourselves as well as of our family.
Although there is no vaccine available to prevent COVID-19, you can take steps to reduce your risk of infection. WHO and CDC recommend following these precautions for avoiding COVID-19:
ï‚· Avoid large events and mass gatherings.
ï‚· Avoid close contact (within about 6 feet, or 2 meters) with anyone who is sick or has symptoms.
 Stay home as much as possible and keep distance between yourself and others (within about 6 feet, or 2 meters), especially if you have a higher risk of serious illness. Keep in mind some people may have COVID-19 and spread it to others, even if they don't have
symptoms or don't know they have COVID-19.
ï‚· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol- based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
 Cover your face with a cloth face mask in public spaces, such as the grocery store, where it's difficult to avoid close contact with others, especially if you're in an area with ongoing community spread. Only use nonmedical cloth masks — surgical masks and N95 respirators should be reserved for health care providers.
ï‚· Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw away the used tissue. Wash your hands right away.
ï‚· Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
ï‚· Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, towels, bedding and other household items if you're sick.
ï‚· Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, electronics and counters, daily.
ï‚· Stay home from work, school and public areas if you're sick, unless you're going to get medical care. Avoid public transportation, taxis and ride-sharing if you're sick. As life is important that is why there was complete lockdown so that people does not get affected from this disease. As of now many people have suffered from this disease and has recovered. But people has lost their life as well.
Though schools are shut, mostly places are shut since March. But slowly and gradually
everything is opening and people are taking it lightly. But everyone has to be aware enough as
cases are still increasing day by day. Also these number of cases will increase more. So its thye
responsibility of every individual to take care of himself/herself and their family.
The news that we have heard about Sukhdev, Murthal which is the most famous place has been
sealed as people were gathered so much and were roaming without taking any precautions.
So avoid crowded places, wear mask, use sanitizer, maintain social distance. Just take care of
yourself. If you will be fit and fine then only you can take care of others.
STAY HOME • STAY FIT• STAY HEALTHY• STAY SAFE.
